The Blair Estate:

When we contacted the Blair Estate, we found out that it is now in the hands of the next closest Blair family member. When Cecily Blair died in the 1970's, there was no clear Blair heir, so the home went to Cecily's cousin and their family, who now reside there. Luke and Lina have thus made the Blair Estate the longest permanantly resided-in estate in Scotland, keeping the 900 year tradition alive and strong.

Because we are having a very small, intimate wedding ceremony without the need to cater dinner for guests or arrange seating, Luke and Lina were kind enough to forego the usual £1000 booking fee. They are also kind enough to help us arrange the local registrar and legal papers, along with all our own personal food and a decorated tent if the weather looks at all daring for the garden wedding. We'll be staying in the Cecily Blair room, which is also quite nice.

The 400 acre grounds host extensive medieval gardens, wooded trails, and ancient architectural backdrops which should provide some of the best pictures John and I could ever have hoped for.
